THE APPROACH of ELIZE KOOPER

“Design is many things, far from just an aesthetic or final product. It is a journey driven by intention, an atmosphere and experience with the power to communicate beyond words.”

About My Curiosity

Growing up across three continents, I became interested in how different environments shape our sense of comfort and belonging. Moving often made me pay attention to the subtle ways a space can influence mood and connection. Over time, that awareness developed into a curiosity about how design can evoke feeling. During my studies, I explored these ideas through projects inspired by nature, emotion, and atmosphere, experimenting with materials that create calm and balance in homes, workplaces, and commercial spaces.

SI Interiors has a refined aesthetic rooted in Scandinavian elegance and minimalism, showcased through clean geometries, natural textures, and a neutral palette.

These design elements reflect a style that I am also deeply passionate about and actively try to implement in my own work. Due to this alignment, this internship experience was especially impactful for me, allowing me to grow creatively while contributing to a design philosophy that truly resonates with my own vision.

The Typology store concept reflects the brand’s minimalist, nature-driven approach to skincare. While centred on Typology’s core range, it also introduces a new line of ingredient-focused workout products. This feels like a natural extension for a brand already rooted in wellness.

The retail environment carries this philosophy through materials such as travertine, rammed earth, and wood. Together, these elements create a calm atmosphere that prioritises wellness over consumption. The design is pared back yet intentional, with every detail reinforcing clarity and authenticity.
